Effective Personal Productivity
“I want to take back control of my time.”
Develop the personal effectiveness and productivity skills that help you take back control of your time, focus on priorities and work towards meaningful results.
Take back control of your time.
Busy is not the same as productive. How you manage your own time and priorities sets the limit on what you, and the people who depend on you, can get done. Effective Personal Productivity is designed for people who recognise needs like these.
For professionals, managers and leaders who want to improve their own productivity and that of their team. It suits people who are new to managing others as well as experienced leaders whose workload has outgrown their current habits.
-
Competing demands
Everything feels urgent, and it is hard to decide what deserves your time first.
-
Reacting all day
Interruptions, messages and other people's emergencies take over, and planned work is pushed out.
-
No time to plan
You know what you want to achieve, but goals stay in your head and rarely make it into the week.
-
Doing it all yourself
Delegating feels slower or riskier than doing the work yourself, so your workload keeps growing.
What the programme covers
From managing yourself to getting more from your team.
The first three lessons deal with your own goals, time and priorities. The last three turn to how you communicate, delegate and build a productive team.
-
The nature of productivity
What productivity means in your role, how to benchmark your own, and how to identify your high-payoff activities.
-
Managing time
Setting personal and organisational goals, putting them in writing, finding time to plan, and using affirmation and visualisation.
-
Controlling priorities
Setting priorities, dealing with interruptions and emergencies, managing communications, and learning to say no.
-
Communicate better
Listening for the whole message, asking clarifying questions, writing for impact, and using technology efficiently.
-
Team empowerment
Overcoming the reluctance to delegate, and developing your team by handing over real responsibility.
-
Team productivity
Creating a learning environment, setting positive expectations, and building efficient ways of working as a team.
What the programme is designed to support
- Clear written goals, and the habit of planning around them
- Better control of priorities, interruptions and time
- Clearer communication with colleagues and teams
- More confident delegation, so the team carries more of the work
